GONE AND LEFT ME...

Today I have been left on shore to update the blog while the boys go on a Whaleshark swim. The boat only had 2 spots, so I sent them just in case I got sea sick as I have been known to do that once or twice. I will go fishing later in the week and supply the burley... Apparently on the whaleshark boats they dont come back to shore even if you are dying, so I'm not too upset that there wasnt enough room..yay..

Exmouth so far

Billy relaxing in the lifeguards chair at Exmouth
Our chef preparing sunday breakie, bacon, eggs, tomato and mushies. YUM YUM.
Dave and Billy went out fishing with our friend Greg and this is what they caught. I cant believe they left the camera in the car so they didnt get shots of the full fish. Apparently Billy caught 2 that were as big as him and needed help from Greg to bring them in. We are all going out again later this week and I wont forget the camera. We ended up with 15 meals from this lot.

Coral Bay

Sunset at Coral Bay, they just keep getting prettier..
Quad bike tour that we went on. We did snorkelling here too
Bill the bikie....
This was the feeding of the huge snapper each arvo. You stand in the water and these massive things swim in and out of your legs.. so cool.
We walked around the bay to where the sharks usually are but today the nursery was empty.

Carnarvon

This is at Quabba Beach at the blowholes. This is just after a huge wave has been thru.
The blowholes were amazing even though this shot doesnt show too well.
In Carnarvon there is a One mile jetty and Billy walked it with all his friends.....

Steep Point most western point on mainland aus.

We made it. This is the most western point of mainland Australia. While we were having lunch here we saw a whale cruising past and he gave us a few jumps just to say hello. Naturally we were too slow with the camera....It took us just on 3hrs to get here but beautiful when we got here.
We stood right on the edge of the most western point of mainland aus.
This is some of the amazing coastline at Steep Point.
Dave cleaning the fish while Billy n I just kept pulling them in...
On our way home we pulled off the track to do a spot of fishing and this is what we caught, 5 yellowfin bream and a nice flathead. This is a lge dinner plate to give you an idea of the fish size. While we were fishing we kept getting interrupted by a shark and several curious turtles. I'm surprised we caught anything with all these around. We caught this other strange fish but returned it to water as it wasnt even in the fish guide.
This is the state of the Moose when we got back from Steep Point after driving thru a tidal mud puddle of salt water....We had been thru plenty of sand dunes and beach driving for about 3hrs.
This was the state of the last part of our trip out to Steep Point. Killer corrogations for miles but we were pleasantly surprised to see the grader had been thru for our return trip.

Hamlin Pool

These are Stromatalites (google it) at a place called Hamlin Pools. We stayed at the caravan park which was only 200m over the sand dunes. We are looking at them off a jetty and they are covered in about 2foot of the clearest water I have ever seen. They are living fossils.
This is the shell quarry where they use to cut blocks of shell with a bush saw to build buildings from as there was no timber in the area. Its just shells shells and more shells.

Monkey Mia

On our way to Monkey Mia we went to Shell Beach and this is where we buried Billy in thousands of shells. There are literally millions of shells on this beach....as per the name..
This is the Dolphin feeding, only the rangers can feed the dolphins nowadays as we were apparently killing them with everyone in the water feeding them. Weonly had 4 come in on this day which was still pretty amazing.

Whalebone Bay

This is a free camp we had on our way to Monkey Mia. We just pulled up and then the boys thru a line in... No fish today but our camp was gorgeous.
You find these rock castles all over the place where someone starts it and everyone just adds to it as Billy is doing here. Check out how clear the water is behind him.
