Sunrise at Yeppoon

Well hi all, we are now at Yeppoon, absolutely love it here. We are at the Beachside caravan park and that is exactly what you get. Beachside!! This shot is sunrise yesterday morning and it was so beautiful. We saw this sunrise out of our bedroom in van, not this shot but look below and see how close we are to beach. Ammenities are excellent, people very friendly, close to everything we need. Photos are a bit out of order but who cares. Our neighbours are from Wamberal (5mins from where Dave used to live). The shot of the white sculpture is the Singing Ship down at Emu Park south of here(10mins) It's amazing it actually sings in the wind. The next one is of Deni flat out doing her computer stuff in her outside office at a fantastic freecamp at Calliope. You cant see in this shot but we are on the side of a river. We all loved it here. The next one is the sunrise out our window and the last shot is at the Marina at Rosslyn Bay. We just walked around and dreamt on....... Stay tuned

Dave's fancy dress 55th birthday.

Dave and Captain Cook at the festival. (and I always thought Captain Cook died years ago).

Trip mascot

You may notice this moose in some photos of our trip. Dont be alarmed, he is with us. He stowed away, unbeknown to us.

Candle making

This is Billy making a candle at the kids tent at Dave's birthday festival.

Aboriginal dancers for Dave's birthday

These were some of the dancers at Dave's birthday festival at The Town of 1770. Captain Cook landed here in 1770 24th May to repair his boat, so now they have a festival each year to celebrate. And we thought it was for Dave's birthday. There were reinactments of the landing, markets, bands, fireworks, a street parade, perfect weather and you gotta love it when a plan comes together.

The First 22days

Hi All we have reception and we have some free time in our hectic schedule. Since we last spoke we have been to Maclean,( Brian n Debs) New Brighton,(Deb n Dereks) Highland Park (Brendan n Gemmas)then onto Bribie Island(Bill n Sandras gorgeous boat), Glasshouse mountains(Julie n Craigs), Maroochydore(Uncle Ron n Bette) Hivesville(Jimmy Bell n Julie's farm), Bundaberg (Turtle Sands) first official night on our own, not staying at anyones house and it poured raining all bloody nite and next day. Apparently we have stayed just nth of all the shitty weather everyone is having. So, we hit the road and headed nth to 1770 where they are putting on a festival for Dave's bday tomorrow. (it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Captain Cook came here in 1770). Dave thinks its pretty cool. As you will see from the photos we are getting sick of crab. Does anyone have any recipes for Muddies..Hopefully this all works and actually goes on the blog. Stay tuned and check out the photos. Cheers
